Residents pledge legal-defense donations to back proposed ban on heavy industry

Supporters said state regulators may lack resources to police gas companies and that private funds could be needed if the law is challenged. Town officials acknowledged the offers but reiterated that the town would await the Otsego County Planning Department review and the continuation of the hearing on Nov. 10.
