The Corning Union High School District Governing Board unanimously approved five actions May 21 related to the CTE shop building remodel: reject all bids, reject the protest from REM Construction Inc., authorize the superintendent and construction manager to change the project scope due to budgetary reasons, grant authorization to rebid the modified project and undertake the necessary solicitation steps.
Board member Cody Lamb moved the package of actions and Jim Bingham seconded; the motion passed with all voting members present. The board did not discuss alternative funding at length during the meeting and directed staff to proceed with scope adjustments and rebidding. The action follows procurement and budget review by district staff and the construction manager; no dollar amount for the revised scope was provided at the meeting. The board will receive updated bid documents and schedules when available.
