Town defers to NYSDEC as lead agency for Parker sand‑and‑gravel SEQR; local review still required

The Board reported receipt of a letter from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation concerning SEQR lead agency status for an application by Parker Excavating and Gravel Company for a proposed 10.4‑acre sand and gravel mine that lies in both New Lisbon and Laurens.
After discussion, the Board voted to advise the NYSDEC that the Town of New Lisbon is happy to allow NYSDEC to act as lead agency for SEQR on the Parker application. Supervisor Edward Lentz will send the formal letter to the DEC. The minutes note the applicant still must submit a local site plan application to the Town Planning Board for local review and approvals.
