Supervisor Edward Lentz updated the New Lisbon Town Board on highway operations, telling members the Highway Superintendent is evaluating replacement mowers priced between $180,000 and $282,000 and that the town plans to include $300,000 in the 2025 tentative budget for the purchase.
Lentz also reported the highway crew is dismantling the old garage and expects to buy about $7,500 in concrete blocks for interior work. An RFP for a man lift will be paid from leftover highway garage grant funds; the Board plans to accept the lowest price of $16,000 from SkyWorks. Lentz said the engineer's report for Turnbull Bridge from Delaware Engineering has been received and the town will get estimates for cleaning and painting beams, replacing the deck and paving.
Councilwoman Nancy Martin‑Mathewson noted repair costs of $19,253 between 2022 and 2023 and said having newer equipment has reduced repair spending. Lentz also said Highway Superintendent Donald Smith learned Heidelberg bought out Carver, which could increase paving stone costs next year and prompted discussion about ordering materials ahead of price increases.
