Mayor Mark Mullen issued a proclamation recognizing National Farmers Market Week and invited market organizers to the podium on Aug. 3. Kelly Diane, manager of the Issaquah Farmers Market at Pickering Barn, gave metrics showing steady growth: average weekly attendance grew from about 3,200 in 2022 to 4,200 in 2025, vendor sales increased from $1.2 million in 2022 to $2.1 million in 2025, and year‑to‑date vendor sales are $1.4 million.
Diane also highlighted programming additions this season (a sustainability fair, wildlife coexistence day, partnership with the King County Library System) and a hard‑to‑recycle collection program; she told council, “Year to date, the program has collected 5,300 gallons of Styrofoam and a 163 pounds of batteries.” The market has also distributed more than $4,000 in SNAP/EBT and market‑match to shoppers.
The mayor and council recognized volunteers and staff, and council encouraged residents to visit the market during Farmers Market Week.
