In departmental and personnel actions, the police department reported an offer was made and accepted by Harry Kitchen of Lime Springs; staff said Kitchen will test with the state and, if successful, begin the academy at the end of August. "So he accepted an officer the offer as a police officer for the city of Cresco," the police representative reported. Council also approved hiring Sandra Vester as a part-time custodian (29 hours) at $15 an hour; the clerk said she had already started and would also work at other city facilities.
Other routine votes included roll-call approvals for various motions and the meeting adjournment. These routine administrative actions and hires were passed by unanimous roll-call votes recorded in the meeting minutes.
