The presenters said entertainment and staging costs would range from $3,500 to $4,000 and that last year the city contributed $500; they asked the council to repeat that support this year. "Last year, you gave us 500, and that's what we're asking for again this year," the presenter said.
Council members asked about coordination with police and safety briefings for crossing points; staff said the event would coordinate with police and public works. Councilman Pickett moved to allocate $500 for the Main Street Celebration, Councilman Childs seconded, and the motion passed. Staff will share event materials on the city website and coordinate logistics with the alliance and public safety.
