Council backs 3 Rivers Park District purchase of parcel at Rebecca Park Trail

The Greenfield City Council unanimously adopted Resolution 26-39 on Aug. 5 supporting the 3 Rivers Park District's planned purchase of 8495 Rebecca Park Trail, a property described by the district as one of the last inholdings within Lake Rebecca Park Reserve. "The park district owns and operates Lake Rebecca Park Reserve in the city of Greenfield," said Anne Rick Seane, principal planner for 3 Rivers Park District.
Seane told the council the parcel surfaced in a decades-old master plan and that staff would provide the council with figures on the local-tax implications and closing numbers before the final closing. Council members raised questions about the recent ordinance changes that affect legal nonconforming uses and noted that homeowners in park-zoned areas now have a permitting option to expand preexisting structures. "I can get that information to you," Seane said when asked about local-tax returns from the sale.
