The city manager explained that two public members of the Dixon Housing Authority had retired and presented minute action to appoint Greg Gannose and Seth Cooley to the board.
City Manager Jim Lindley said the appointments "bring community input on this" and that the nominees are "farmers from long term farmer families" who employ farmworkers and who can provide local perspective for migrant farm worker housing on Radio Station Road. A resident asked whether the appointment process was open and where it had been announced; she asked, "Is this open to all members of the public? Where was it announced? Where was it made available for people to apply?" Lindley replied that the process is a nomination process "nominated by members that are currently on the board," and said he had contacted the general manager of the county housing authority for input.
Council members endorsed the choices and the council approved the minute action by roll-call vote (all Aye).
