Recreation manager previews senior events, pool maintenance and lifeguard recruitment for 2025

Austin listed planned senior activities including health screenings for diabetes and cholesterol, monthly lunch trips, a senior driving-awareness presentation, ice-cream socials in summer, and a senior resource fair. He said the senior center assembly hall and commercial kitchen are available for rentals of parties under approximately 120 people. On aquatic facilities, Austin said staff completed preventative-maintenance tasks and replastering and are recruiting lifeguards and swim instructors for 2025. He told commissioners staff plans to expand rec-swim days to give residents more options beyond the current midday window.
