Solano grand jury members ask Dixon residents to apply

During public comment at the Feb. 4 council meeting, Anne Wallace, a Solano County grand jury member and Dixon resident, urged residents to consider serving on the civil grand jury.
Wallace said the civil grand jury "was established in the California state constitution in 1872" and emphasized it operates under the authority of the California Penal Code. She told the council that "applications are open for the grand jury" and described eligibility requirements: U.S. citizenship, age 18 or older and at least one year of Solano County residency prior to being sworn.
Wallace encouraged citizens to pick up application materials left on the council table and noted the grand jury runs on a July 1–June 30 fiscal year. The council thanked her for the presentation and for her service.
