Unions urge local‑hire commitments as many speakers back project for jobs

Union representatives said they support careful review of schools, fire protection and traffic impacts but emphasized the economic benefits of construction employment and training; several speakers urged the city and applicant to include enforceable local‑hire commitments in any development agreement.
