Engineering staff outlines Homestead buildout, West Day widening and other projects

Engineering staff told the commission about multiple development and infrastructure projects underway in Dixon City, including Homestead subdivisions, utility installations and commercial openings.
Staff said Homestead Phase 2A is complete, Phase 2B work is underway and the West Day widening/gateway work is progressing, with gateway signal activation anticipated in early 2025. Staff also noted that Rotten Robbie (gas station and car wash) is complete and that vertical construction for Prospera Family Affordable Housing and Homestead continues. Independence on North 1st Street and North Lincoln has underground utility installation underway and is starting vertical construction. "Homestead continues to build out," staff reported.
Staff also said they are waiting on parts for signal controllers at West Day at Evans and Pinnacle and are coordinating with the developer; staff expects parts will be ordered and any delay should not be at cost to the city.
