City council accepts $2,500 donation toward rescue vehicle

The Veneta City Council voted to accept a $2,500 donation from Rockin' V Cattle LLC to be used toward purchasing a rescue vehicle for the City and County Technical Rescue Task Force serving Craig County.
The chair noted that Scott and Nathaniel Osborn previously pledged $10,000 earlier this year toward the same purpose, bringing the donor group’s total contributions to $7,500 received to date and $10,000 pledged. A councilmember moved to accept the donation and the motion passed by voice vote with no recorded opposition. The chair and council thanked the donors for their support.
Council staff said the money will be banked toward the equipment purchase and combined with other fundraising and budgeted funds to reach the total needed for the vehicle.
