The Elementary School Building Committee in the Town of Southborough reviewed three preliminary concept options and set a target to present the project and related details to Town Meeting on March 20, 2027. The project team described the current purple line on the schedule as the first-pass review of concept diagrams.
"That's our target for presenting the project and all of the details around it," the Presenter said, describing the adjusted work plan and schedule. The three approaches ranged from a minimal renovation that keeps the building footprint to an infill/addition approach that would create a larger gym and expanded arrival area.
The team said the initial pass focuses on program alignment and spatial strategies; subsequent meetings will layer cost, phasing, and more detailed room-by-room planning. The committee agreed to return to the options with refined drawings, phasing scenarios and maintenance items at future meetings, with a school-committee update planned for September and an updated options set due at the next meeting on the 19th.
