Committee prepares remarks ahead of Select Board review of Freddie’s seat

Members emphasized that the Open Space Preservation Commission is a bylaw committee while Stewardship is an ad hoc, hands-on group focused on on-the-ground trail work. One member argued the conservation commission had already sent a strong letter supporting separate roles. Joyce said, because the Select Board has not yet posted a public proposal, the committee should avoid opposing an unspecified plan in the moment and instead be ready to respond once the agenda item is posted.
The committee agreed to post attendance, try to be present in person if possible and repeat its prior position that stewardship should remain focused on trail stewardship and related tasks.
