Waterview site plan flagged over possible unpermitted clear-cut in River Overlay District

An engineer representing the Waterview project told the Lumberland Planning Board the team submitted an Environmental Assessment Form narrative as part of its site-plan review for a proposed two-story single-family home. Staff and board members said they are concerned that trees had been cleared in the town’s River Overlay District without permits.
The presenter (speaker 8) said, “So we submitted this plan, to the board, submitted an EAF narrative,” and the chair and staff asked the applicant to document exactly how many acres were cleared. The board emphasized that if more than two acres were cleared it could be a more serious compliance issue; the applicant estimated “approximately 2 acres” but committed to returning with documentation and an updated plan showing water and septic locations.
Staff noted comments from the town engineer on the submission and asked the applicant to address them in a future resubmission. The board said it would determine next steps after reviewing the acreage documentation and the corrected site-plan materials.
