Exeter BRC told CIP will be released to planning board tomorrow; committee to review budgets in late September

Town manager and finance director told the committee the capital improvement plan will go to the planning board imminently and department budgets will be delivered to the select board on Sept. 28 and to the BRC on Sept. 30 for review.
Paul Cohen, the town manager, and Corey Stevens, finance director, briefed the committee on timing: the capital improvement plan will be released to the planning board soon and staff plan to present budgets to the select board on Sept. 28 and then to the Budget Recommendations Committee on Sept. 30.
Cohen said the CIP aims to present a clearer, more concrete plan than in recent years and that the select board set goals at a June meeting to guide prioritization. Stevens noted the two-page CIP summary and a debt-service page that will help members understand what projects would mean for a typical tax bill.
Committee chairs were reminded to post subcommittee meetings at least two days in advance and to provide notes, which state law requires.
