Plain City police chief highlights leadership training and crisis intervention graduation

Chief McKee told the council that he, Lieutenant Jasco, Sergeant Prather, Sergeant Howard and others attended the annual Police Executive Leadership College and noted that about 2,776 officers have graduated from the program statewide; he also announced Officer Bailey Boathook completed crisis intervention training to better equip officers for encounters with people experiencing mental-health crises.
"This training focuses on providing officers with the necessary training when it comes to safely assisting those who are having mental issues or mental [crises]," Chief McKee said on the record. He described the training as a routine but important part of the department's professional development.
Council members thanked the chief for the update and commended the department's investment in leadership and crisis response training. No action was required.
