Exeter to build roundabout at Front, Linden and Pine; construction mobilizes Aug. 3

The Town of Exeter will close the intersection of Front, Linden and Pine Streets for construction of a roundabout, with crews set to mobilize on Aug. 3 and detour signage going up ahead of a planned detour on Aug. 6, the presenter announced.
The design, recommended by a 2022 intersection improvement study and approved by voters at the 2023 town meeting, aims to improve intersection operations, provide safer pedestrian crossings and reduce vehicle conflicts and speeds, the presenter said. "Crews believe this aggressive timeline is possible because the project won't be reconstructing roadways, but instead resurfacing them," the presenter added.
Work will proceed in phases, beginning with drainage work and roadway milling, followed by construction of the roundabout and island, then final paving and striping.
