Staff said the bid for the reconstruction closes March 17 and that construction will replace water lines and pavement, install a 7‑foot sidewalk on the west side, add gutters and catch basins to address standing water, and preserve two‑way traffic and parking on one side where feasible. Staff will notify residents via mail, social media and the village newsletter and asked residents to keep driveways accessible during construction.
The presentation included photos of standing water from a recent storm that staff said accelerated pavement deterioration and justified the project. Staff noted an intent to preserve existing tree stands where possible and to tie the project into future quadrants to the south as part of a longer-term street improvement plan.
No vote was required; staff will proceed to bid-opening and bring the contract award to council for authorization when award recommendations are available.
