Michael Romer presented an application to create three lots from a 36.18-acre parcel at 250 Gedney Hill Road, explaining the plan to allocate two roughly 2-acre home lots (one for his son) and retain the remainder to qualify for an agricultural exemption. "My name is Mike Romer. This is my son Maxwell," Romer told the board. He also said, "We currently have a marijuana farm that's there. It's indoor," and discussed steps needed for soil worksheets and assessor guidance for ag exemptions.
Board members and staff advised that an agricultural exemption can be applied without subdividing in some cases but that subdivision would assist financing; staff recommended sending the application to Albany County for further review. The board declared the action unlisted for SEQR, issued a negative declaration recommendation on the short form answers, and scheduled a public hearing at the next appropriate meeting in early September. The applicant was given instructions on submission of copies (mylar and paper) and escrow/payment requirements for subsequent reviews.
