Committee to revisit County Clerk and Treasurer compensation after UCCI comparables shared

Commissioner Claro Carter told committee members he had run comparables using the University of Illinois/United Counties (?) salary survey — narrowed to like jurisdictions by population and equalized assessed values — to inform upcoming compensation for the County Clerk and Treasurer. The County Clerk had proposed a schedule of percentage increases of 6%, 6%, 5%, 5% for the next term; Carter said he would share his comparables with committee members and the committee agreed to address compensation at the May meeting.
No vote or final decision on compensation was taken at the April meeting; committee members asked Carter to distribute his analysis for review before the next meeting, when the item will be on the agenda for possible action.
