County Administrator Dee Rentmeister told the committee the Kantech access-control system needs a software upgrade at an estimated cost of $2,000. RockStar Audio Video & Security provided a written quote noting the upgrade would require tokens/licenses and warned that older equipment might have issues with the latest software. The committee approved purchasing the software upgrade by voice vote.
Rentmeister also said dispatch requested installation of a key-fob reader and controller for the dispatch office door. RockStar quoted $3,865 for hardware and installation of a single-door access-control controller, readers and related materials; the committee approved that purchase by voice vote. The purchases are to be charged to the appropriate county facilities or IT budget lines and follow standard vendor procurement procedures.
