Finance committee approves claims after explanation of Heart Technologies billing changes

The DeWitt County Finance Committee voted to approve county claims on March 16 after a committee member questioned numerous invoices from Heart Technologies.
Committee member Jamie Prestegaard asked why there were many claims to Heart Technologies. County Administrator Dee Rentmeister told the committee that Heart Technologies had changed its billing format and that her office has been working with Heart for the last four months on the billing format and charges. The motion to approve claims, moved by Terry Ferguson and seconded by Megan Myers, carried on a voice vote.
The explanation was given during the claims approval item; no vote was recorded to withhold payment, and the committee approved the claims as presented.
