State Department outlines international effort, FORGE, to secure critical-mineral supply chains

Secretary of State Marco Rubio told the audience that the State Department has used diplomacy to build international partnerships around critical minerals and supply chains. "Earlier this year, we had a critical minerals ministerial...and announced the creation of something called FORGE, which is an international partnership chaired by us in the United States to leverage public finance and coordinate diplomatic support to secure these supply chains," Rubio said.
Rubio said the administration has expanded bilateral arrangements and has, as of his remarks, signed 27 critical-minerals agreements. He praised staff work including an initiative he called "Paxilica," credited to Undersecretary Jacob Helberg, to partner with industry and mobilize investment.
