Committee OKs up to $2,500 for America250 band at Cambridge celebration

The Henry County Administration Committee voted June 9, 2026 to approve an America250 event band sponsorship not to exceed $2,500 for a joint celebration with the Cambridge BBQ Fest.
Member Joe Garrity moved to approve the sponsorship; Member Jan May seconded. The motion carried on a roll-call vote with all members present voting in favor.
Committee members reviewed event details: courthouse tours from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., a dedication of the Clarke Barnes Memorial Bench at the veterans memorial with the Orion Color Guard performing, and a transition to the Cambridge BBQ Fest later that day on Sept. 12. County staff will coordinate logistics for courthouse tours and the bench dedication in partnership with Cambridge event organizers.
