Administration Committee approves county healthcare renewal after reinsurance review

The Henry County Administration Committee on June 9, 2026 approved the county's selected healthcare renewal option following a staff presentation on reinsurance renewals.
Mark Pyska gave an overview of the reinsurance renewals that the county received for the healthcare plan and outlined key renewal terms the committee reviewed. Committee members asked questions about healthcare rates, reinsurance attachment points and prescription costs as they considered options to limit future expenditures.
Member Jill Darin moved to approve healthcare renewal option 1; Member Joe Garrity seconded. There was a roll-call vote and all members present voted in favor, carrying the motion. Members present for the vote were Tim Yager, Jill Darin, Jan May, Marshall Jones, Kippy Breeden, Joe Garrity and Mike Rabas.
County Administrator Erin Knackstedt will continue to work with staff to implement the renewal and monitor cost drivers such as prescriptions and attachment-point exposure.
