A previously tabled one-year trial agreement with ShelterLuv for the county animal shelter was approved on March 19 after the State’s Attorney reviewed proposed contract revisions. Myers, who supported bringing the contract back, said she "felt that the main issues had been corrected."
Ferguson opposed the contract, arguing it "wasn’t brought up during budget time and they have already paid for the old software." The motion carried with ten ayes and two nays (Ferguson and Werts). The board’s minutes record the vote and indicate the contract had been reviewed for wording changes before the approval.
