The DeWitt County Board on March 19 voted to table a motion to reappoint Kurt Wells to the Farmer City Fire Protection District after the county’s State’s Attorney flagged missing information. Clerk Harris told the board she "was not provided with a term in the email or attached letter" sent by the nominating authority.
Chairman Joe Witte initially moved to reappoint Wells; State’s Attorney Markwell recommended tabling the motion until a term length could be confirmed. The board approved the motion to table with all members recorded as voting aye. The reappointment will return to the board agenda when a term is provided.
