Council approves moving owner's‑rep contract for firehouse coed modernization to committee

Council members raised procurement concerns about the same firm serving as both designer and owner's rep; staff said having the firm serve in both roles is practical for this narrowly scoped project because they already know the building and design intent, and that selecting a different third party now would delay progress by many months. Council voted 7–0 to place the ordinance on second and subsequent third readings.
