Board adopts updated policies and approves handbooks for 2026–27 (pending meal prices and policy 504.06)

The Sidney Community School District Board approved updates to multiple policies and rescinded policies 603.01 and 603.1 at its July 20 meeting. The listed policies approved include 201, 210.05, 401.01, 409.02, 501.15, 502.03, 503.01, 503.11 (and related regs), 504.06, 507.02, 507.09, 603.03, 603.06, 603.10, 604.01, 604.03 (and related regs), 604.05, 605.04, 607.01, 713, 804.05, and 901. As recorded in the minutes, the board also approved the student handbook, certified employee handbook, paraprofessional handbook and activities handbook for 2026–27, with approval explicitly conditioned on resolving meal prices and policy 504.06.

Director Megan Franks moved to approve the listed policies and rescind the two policies noted; Director Mai Le seconded and the motion carried 5 ayes to 0 nays. The minutes do not include the text of the policy changes or the rationale for each update; the board will return to meal-price and policy 504.06 issues as needed.
