Planning & Zoning meeting: minutes approved; moratorium set; UDC adoption timeline announced

The commission voted to approve the minutes from July 7 and July 21 after a motion, second and recorded affirmative responses. Chair Kenole Scott noted recommendations from the commission that had been acted on the night before by the Board of Commissioners, including the 30‑day moratorium on data centers.
Staff provided a calendar of next steps for other county planning work: the Planning & Zoning Commission will discuss the Unified Development Code (UDC) at its Sept. 1 meeting and vote on Sept. 15; the Board of Commissioners is scheduled to vote on adoption Oct. 26. Staff also flagged a special called meeting/ open house for Aug. 27 where CTL will present and asked commissioners to expect an email with UDC materials in advance.
The commission adjourned after final procedural items; staff said draft ordinances and packet materials will be circulated and that several items will return for formal hearings once corrected surveys, plats or additional documentation are filed.
