Chasity Reid, Public Affairs Specialist with the U.S. Small Business Administration, informed the board about SBA disaster loan options and provided members with informational packets and contact details.
Alderman Mierek updated the board on the Surgoinsville Community Kitchen, stating the first event "will be held November 25 from 6pm-8pm" and that volunteers can arrive at 4:30pm; the minutes do not specify the year. Johnny Greer reminded the board of a $5,000 donation from Cardinal Glass toward a Riverfront Park pavilion and suggested building a roughly 40-foot by 12-foot deck with a floor about 3.5 inches off the ground, bolted to the sides of the ferry. Alderman Collier asked that Animal Control be added to the January 2025 workshop agenda.
The minutes record these items as community interest updates and do not show formal board action on the pavilion concept or kitchen beyond informational updates.
