Supervisor of Elections Katie Lenhart urges Flagler County voters to use August primary

Katie Lenhart, Flagler County Supervisor of Elections, urged residents to prioritize the August primary and explained where to find official information about candidates and polling. "So this is our primary election. It's the 1st step of any election cycle," Lenhart said, noting that local races for county commission and school board — and potentially Palm Coast city council seats — could be decided in August.

Lenhart emphasized the practical importance of primaries in Florida's closed primary system and the consequences of skipping them: "If you skip it, then someone else made all those choices for you, and you get what they decided in November." She directed voters to flaglerelections.gov for sample ballots, precinct lookup and candidate bios, and reminded listeners that the primary's relevant deadlines and locations are posted there.

The supervisor highlighted outreach efforts to increase the county’s historically low primary turnout (around 30% on average) while noting Flagler County's high general-election participation in recent cycles. She concluded with a direct appeal: check your sample ballot, confirm your precinct and share voting reminders with neighbors.
