Peekskill staff to seek council adoption of draft climate vulnerability and adaptation plan

Emma Kaminski, a sustainability coordinator with the Center for Economic and Environmental Partnership (CEEP), presented updates to Peekskill’s draft Climate Vulnerability Assessment and Adaptation Plan (CVAP), saying the team incorporated staff and council feedback, added maps from the Natural Resources Inventory and FEMA/USGS sources, and included more survey visuals gathered in summer 2024.
Kaminski told the council that, with those edits complete, staff will request adoption of the CVAP by resolution at the May 12 meeting and that the near-final draft will be posted online. “We will be seeking adoption of the CVAP through resolution at the next council meeting on May 12,” she said. Council members thanked staff and asked that the final document be posted and circulated to the council and public prior to the vote.
