City Clerk Cassandra Redd brought four event‑closure requests before the council: the 14th annual Juneteenth Parade and Festival on June 21, 2025 (parade 12:00–1:30 p.m.; downtown festival 1–7 p.m.; closures 10 a.m.–8 p.m.), a Saturday farmers market on Bank Street from June 7 through Nov. 22, 2025 (9 a.m.–2 p.m.), the Independence Day parade on July 4 (10 a.m.–noon), and recurring North Division Street evening event closures (May 9–Dec. 31) by Peekskill Events LLC with bands and a to‑be‑submitted schedule.
Council members asked staff to ensure bollards are removed for parade floats and then reinstalled for festival security, to coordinate with downtown restaurants about table placement during events, and to post the list of bands and event schedules on the city website and calendar for public awareness. Clerk Redd said maps and details are attached to the event packets and that staff will follow up to avoid repeating prior operational errors.
