Coordinated Resource Management steers committee to ask BOCC to draft ordinances for large projects; motion approved

William Miller, representing the Coordinated Resource Management Steering Committee (CRM), presented a letter recommending the Board of County Commissioners begin drafting ordinances, consider temporary moratoriums for very large projects, and develop a local checklist to evaluate project impacts. Chairman Odgers recused himself from this agenda item and Vice Chairman Jacob Carter presided during the discussion.
Member Dana Johnson moved to approve the CRM recommendation as a starting point; Member Mark Tefft seconded. The motion passed with Chairman Odgers abstaining. Miller said CRM would like county support to craft a SUP-based tool that addresses local impacts in coordination with state and federal partners and that Chapter 17 ordinances and the County Lands Policy Plan could provide direction.
