A. Ben Crouch, chairman of the Jerome County Board of Equalization, opened the July 7 session and the board unanimously approved a set of assessor-recommended valuation adjustments across several parcels. Assessor Mark Swenson told the board the Lickley parcel (RP08S17E357201) was resolved by agreement with the owners — land value remained unchanged while improvements were lowered; Commissioner Charles M. Howell moved to approve the agreement and the motion passed unanimously.
The board also approved lowered improvement values for a parcel donated to Jerome Food Ministry after the assessor cited squatters and a fire, an adjustment to Clover Creek Housing after staff consulted Robert Rios and located comparables (parcel RPJ13701640062), a countywide land-value correction affecting the Hunt property (RPJ13702060050), and a condition-based reduction to improvements for a Cook rental property (RPJ10750010020). Two Moyle-owned parcels had land-value reductions after reclassification and comparable analysis (RPJ00000136550 and RPJ1370088010A). All motions were seconded and carried by unanimous vote.
The votes were administrative approvals of assessor valuations; no new policies or budget actions were taken. The board recessed for lunch at 11:22 a.m. and reconvened at 1:30 p.m. to issue decisions on the appeals heard earlier in the day.
