PNGISD board certifies Nov. 4 trustee election; Sara Hardin and Brandon Cropper declared winners

The Port Neches-Groves Independent School District Board of Trustees formally canvassed the Nov. 4, 2025 general election at a special meeting on Nov. 13 and declared Sara Hardin elected to Trustee Place 4 and Brandon Cropper elected to Trustee Place 5.
At the meeting, Trustee Dustin Marsh "made a motion to canvass the results of the November 4, 2025 general election of PNGISD by adopting the attached order that declares Sarah [sic]/Sara Hardin and Brandon Cropper winners of the election," and Jake Lefort seconded; the board voted unanimously, 6-0, to adopt the order. The board's written order cites unofficial election returns provided by Aaron Kelley, Elections Manager, Jefferson County Clerk, and attaches those returns as Exhibit A.
The order records vote totals for Trustee Place 4 as: Sara Hardin — Early Votes 693, Election Day Votes 568, Absentee Votes 5, Total 1,266; Joshua Gray — Early Votes 353, Election Day Votes 254, Total 607; Misty Goodridge — Early Votes 516, Election Day Votes 349, Absentee Votes 4, Total 869. For Trustee Place 5, the order records Brandon Cropper with Early Votes 1,243, Election Day Votes 906, Absentee Votes 6, Total 2,155. The board declared the unofficial county totals "OFFICIAL" in its order.
The order also authorizes the board president to execute and the board secretary to attest the order, and finds that the meeting and notice requirements of the Texas Open Meetings Act were met. No further action was taken on the trustee results beyond the formal certification at the special meeting.
