Commissioners register no objection to three liquor renewals; cannabis retailer license renewed over chair's objection

The Wahkiakum County Board of Commissioners reviewed and registered no objections to three liquor-license renewal applications on June 2: Skyline Golf, LLC (Skyline Golf Course); Aliya & Sahij, LLC (Cathlamet Mini Mart); and Puget Island Gardens, LLC (Puget Island Gardens). The board's action on the liquor renewals was unanimous.
The board also considered a cannabis retailer/medical endorsement renewal for Freedom Market Cathlamet, Corp. Chair Daniel L. Cothren recorded an objection to the renewal; Commissioners Lee Tischer and Mark Letham recorded "not object." The renewal passed as a no-objection by majority vote. The minutes record the vote as: object—Cothren; not object—Tischer, Letham; passes as no-objection based on majority.
