Board supports antelope augmentation and 2026–27 antelope quotas

The board backed an amendment to the biennial big-game release plan to transfer around 100 antelope into Garden and Coal Valley (Unit 113) and unanimously supported Commission Regulation 26-11 antelope quotas for the 2026–2027 season.
Ridge Ricketts told the board that NDOW is considering a trap-and-transfer augmentation to move approximately 100 antelope from a private-ranch concentration into the Garden and Coal Valley areas to bolster low-population units. "A ranch is experiencing issues with approximately 800 antelope located solely on private land. The department is considering a trap-and-transfer program for those antelope," Ricketts said.
The board discussed guzzler construction and habitat availability related to the Mount Irish Fire and unanimously supported the Biennial Big Game Release Plan Amendment #2 and the antelope quotas included in Commission Regulation 26-11 (motion by Board member Sawyer, seconded by Board member Rosevear).
