Finance Director Jim Milton briefed the Committee on April financial results, saying municipal income tax receipts are trending closer to the 2025 comparison estimate and that overall revenues and expenditures remain on target. Milton distributed corrected Jefferson Fund tracking information and reported that medical claims spending is about 27 percent ahead of 2025, a trend staff expect will flatten over the remainder of the year.
Councilman Peter J. Winzig recommended that the April financial report be acknowledged and placed on the Regular Meeting agenda. On a related item, Council discussed an amended appropriation to provide additional funding for Phase One of the storm sewer correction project: the City had $50,000 carried from 2025 and staff proposed a $250,000 transfer from the General Fund to support reconstruction of catch basins and related supplemental improvements. Mayor Koomar described the work and identified "19 new connections and 11 rehabilitated structures" as part of the project. No final appropriation vote occurred at the Committee Session; the ordinance is on the Regular Meeting agenda for action.
