County approves Interstate Engineering as consultant for joint planning-area update

One commissioner questioned a stated not-to-exceed amount of $200,000 for the work and the committee chair explained that $200,000 is a not-to-exceed figure used in the RFQ and that the final contract amount remains to be negotiated. Supporters argued the JPA update is crucial for comprehensive planning given recent population growth. The board approved the consultant selection and authorized county participation in the JPA plan update process.
