Summer reading funded by Robinson Nevada Mining; Freedom Truck application submitted

Director Lori Romero said the Ely Elks Lodge sponsored the Annual Poetry Contest, which drew 12 student participants, and staff recommended moving the contest to February when fewer activities conflict. An application was submitted for the Freedom Truck to visit Ely on Labor Day weekend as part of events marking the country's 250th anniversary. Romero also said "Robinson Nevada Mining will be sponsoring the Summer Reading Program that starts June 15th and ends August 14th," and that mine funding will cover prizes, incentive items, crafts and the Scales & Tails program.
Trustees recorded these sponsorships and event plans as part of the director's report; specific contracts or formal approvals for vendors were not requested during the meeting.
