Sheridan County to prepay $200,000 for new ambulance under regional EMS agreement

The board approved using $200,000 of FY25–26 general-purpose funds to prepay a new ambulance for Wyoming Regional EMS so the cost does not roll into next year’s budget; county administrative director said the county has an extra $325,000 in receipts this fiscal year.
Sheridan County commissioners authorized the prepayment of $200,000 from fiscal year 2025–26 general-purpose account funds to cover the county’s share of a new ambulance for Wyoming Regional Emergency Medical Services.
"The agreement that we have with Wyoming Regional Emergency Management Services requires us to pay 200,000 and the city, 50,000 by August, 31st '20 '26 for a new ambulance," Administrative Director Cameron Duff said, explaining that the county currently has roughly $325,000 more in GPAT receipts than anticipated and can apply $200,000 now so the expense does not have to be placed in next year’s budget. A motion to approve the prepayment was made, seconded and carried by voice vote.
