Emergency management reports reservoirs near capacity, secures $49,200 grant

Jesse Ludikhuize, Sheridan County Emergency Management Coordinator, told commissioners that local reservoirs are at capacity or close to it and that, while spillways may activate soon, flooding is not expected at this time though creek levels could rise. He described efforts to formalize an MOU with the school district for emergency coordination.
Ludikhuize also reported the county received a $49,200 grant from Wyoming Homeland Security to help cover salary, benefits and travel expenses for emergency management activities; the match requirement was described as easily covered by the current budget. The board did not take additional action beyond acknowledging the update and the grant.
