Whitelaw approves one operator license; fire department to seek liquor license guidance for Sept. 19 event
Summary
Trustees granted a beverage operator license for Stephanie Schilling, did not consider another application due to unpaid fee, and noted the Fire Department plans a Sept. 19 centennial event requiring a Class B liquor license; the Village attorney will advise because the Lions Club holds the annual license for the park address.
During the Aug. 3 meeting the License Committee approved a beverage operator license for Stephanie Schilling after Trustee Jim Kronschnabel moved and Trustee Jeremy Johanek seconded the motion. The application from Penny Heinrich was not considered because the required fee had not been paid.
The Fire Department reported plans for a Sept. 19 centennial celebration at the Community Park that will include fireworks and beverage sales requiring a Class B liquor license. Trustees were advised that the Lions Club holds the annual liquor license for that park address and the Village attorney will advise on options such as temporary relinquishment or alternative locations; the Fire Department will submit paperwork once guidance is received.
The board approved fireworks for the event and will await the attorney’s guidance about the liquor-license logistics.
