The board approved change order #003 to the Young Plumbing and Heating Company contract for Blackhawk County Jail HVAC and building automation upgrades, adding $11,297.92 for direct digital-control work tied to two energy-recovery-ventilator units.
Rory Giving, facilities director, explained a discrepancy in the original design required the additional controls work: "This puts the total project $11,297.92 over the original contract sum, and this should be the... final, we should be seeing the final payout for this project." He told the board that the systems originally had a standalone operating system and the current work integrates controls with the new operating system.
Supervisors asked no substantive follow-ups, and the resolution passed by roll call.
