The Hamilton County Election Board reviewed a complaint that poll worker Charles Spradlin spoke to a voter about the religious meaning of his name and "implied he was 'intelligent' because he voted Republican." Election Administrator Beth Sheller said she spoke with Mr. Spradlin, who admitted the conduct and told her he would not repeat it.
Board members agreed to add a training reminder that poll workers must not engage in religious discussion at poll sites. The board determined that the conversation and Mr. Spradlin's admission were sufficient for now and did not impose any additional sanctions during this meeting.
The board did not record a motion to discipline and instead treated the matter as a training and personnel issue to be addressed in future training sessions.
